This programme allows students to develop knowledge and expertise in the popular areas of English and Psychology. By studying English, students gather knowledge in a range of literary texts and periods, which will allow them to develop themselves as critical thinkers. Modules in psychology offer students an insight into the study of human behaviour.

This course design is intended to inspire you in both subjects. Both subjects will be delivered in engaging and innovative ways, by a well-known and experienced lecturing team.

Indicative points of 300 required in addition to meeting the minimum entry requirements
Leaving Certificate: a minimum of 2 H5 and 4 O6/H7 grades including English/Irish at O6/H7 and Maths at F2/O6/H7.
QQI FE: Any Major award with a minimum of 3 Distinctions and a pass in C20139, 5N1833, C20174, C20175 or LCE Maths.

On successful completion of this programme, graduates may apply to the taught L9 MA in Leadership and Advocacy in Early Years based on holding a minimum H2.2 and successful completion of a designated selection process. Candidates also have the option to proceed to an L9 Masters by Research.
Externally: It is expected that a number of graduates will apply to progress to the Masters in Education (M.Ed.). Alternatively, it is expected some graduates will progress to a full psychology award.
